Becoming a Pro
Eligibility, Individual vs Corporate accounts, onboarding steps, packages, and portfolios.
Who can become a Pro on ZexusPro?
Professionals, artisans, tradespeople, consultants, contractors, service businesses, and registered companies can join ZexusPro to offer services across Real Estate, Construction, Automobile and Heavy Equipment, and Marine.
What is the difference between an Individual and Corporate Pro?
An Individual Pro is an independent professional, artisan, tradesperson, consultant, or sole trader.
A Corporate Pro is a registered business, company, firm, or service organisation. Corporate Pros must provide valid business details, which are validated against the CAC database.
What is the difference between a Professional and a Service Provider?
Both account types can offer services on ZexusPro and have the same public profile structure.
The main difference is credentials. Professionals may be required to submit credentials relevant to their specialty. Credentials give Professionals added credibility and may result in a verified badge on their profile.
What do I need before starting Pro onboarding?
Have the following ready:
- A valid email address
- A phone number
- Your legal name, exactly as it appears on your identity document
- Your date of birth
- Your 11-digit NIN
- A smartphone or computer with a working camera for the Smart Selfie check
- Your city and state
- A clear profile photo
- A short description of your services and skills
- Your starting rate in naira
Corporate Pros should also have their registered business or company details available.
Professionals may need their regulator, association membership, registration number, and supporting credential document.
What are the steps to become a Pro?
- Create your Pro account.
- Confirm your email address.
- Verify your identity with your NIN and Smart Selfie check.
- Complete your profile and submit any required credentials.
- Review and confirm your details.
- Complete your public profile in your Pro Workspace.
See the Pro Onboarding Guide for full details.
Why must my name and date of birth match my identity document?
Your name and date of birth must match your identity document so ZexusPro can verify your identity accurately. This helps reduce impersonation and false claims.
What happens if my NIN details do not match my account details?
If your NIN details do not match the name or date of birth on your account, the system will flag the mismatch and you will not be able to continue until the details are corrected.
When can my profile appear in marketplace search?
Your profile can appear in marketplace search once you have completed your basic profile, including your starting rate.
Your credential may still be pending review while your profile is visible.
What is my public profile link?
Your public profile link uses your registered name or business name. For example:
- zexuspro.com/pro/your-name
- zexuspro.com/pro/your-company-name
Can I edit my profile after onboarding?
Yes. You can update your profile photo, bio, starting rate, city, portfolio, packages, FAQs, and credentials from your Pro Workspace.
How do I submit a credential for review?
Go to Edit Profile or the Credential Badges section in your Pro Workspace. Select the credential type, add the label you want displayed, select your specialty, and upload the supporting document.
You can also add a registration number and a note for the reviewer.
What happens after my credential is approved?
An authorised ZexusPro admin reviews each credential submission manually. If approved, the relevant regulatory badge appears on your public profile.
Can I publish fixed-price packages?
Yes. You can publish fixed-price packages alongside custom quotations, or turn packages off and accept custom requests only.
How many packages can I publish?
You can publish up to three packages per profile:
- Basic
- Standard
- Premium
Packages are published in order. Basic is published first, followed by Standard and Premium.
Can I offer both packages and custom quotations?
Yes. You can publish fixed-price packages and also accept custom requests.
Can I add portfolio projects?
Yes. You can add completed projects to your portfolio. A portfolio project may include a title, description, location, images, and other relevant details.
How many images can I add to a portfolio project?
Portfolio projects added before completing jobs on ZexusPro may include up to four images per project.
Portfolio projects completed through ZexusPro should reflect work you personally completed on the platform.
When should I add my bank account?
Add your bank account details when you are ready to withdraw cleared funds.
Can I use my ZexusPro balance to hire another Pro?
Yes. Funds in your ZexusPro account can be used to book another Professional or Service Provider on the marketplace.
Does ZexusPro guarantee that I will get jobs?
No. ZexusPro provides visibility, tools, verification, payment protection, and access to opportunities. It does not guarantee that every Pro will receive jobs or income.
Finding a Professional or Service Provider
Evaluating profiles, verified credentials, ratings, starting rates, and messaging.
How do I find a Professional or Service Provider?
You can search the marketplace, review profiles, and compare relevant Professionals or Service Providers based on their prices, services, experience, portfolio, reviews, ratings, and other information shown on their profile.
What information can I see on a Professional’s profile?
A Professional’s profile may include the information they choose to display, subject to ZexusPro’s verification and marketplace rules. This may include:
- Professional name or business name
- Sector, such as Real Estate, Construction, Marine, or Automobile and Heavy Equipment
- Professional title or area of specialisation
- Location and service coverage areas
- Professional summary and years of experience
- Verification status and verified credentials
- Marketplace rating and client reviews
- Number of completed projects or verified jobs
- Client repeat rate, where available
- Starting rate or package pricing
- Project portfolio
- Work experience
- Skills and areas of expertise
- Languages spoken
- Education
- Licences, certifications, and professional registrations
- Service packages, deliverables, delivery time, and revision terms
- Responses to frequently asked questions
- Availability to receive messages or requests
What are verified credentials?
Verified credentials are licences, certifications, registrations, or business documents that ZexusPro has reviewed and marked as verified on a Professional’s profile.
Examples may include professional registration with a relevant regulatory body, a corporate registration certificate, or other sector-specific credentials.
Verification confirms that the credential was reviewed. It does not guarantee the quality, completion, or outcome of a service engagement.
What does a Professional’s rating show?
A Professional’s rating is based on feedback received from Clients after completed engagements.
Where available, ratings may be shown as an overall score and may include feedback on areas such as deliverable quality, communication, deadline reliability, and compliance with agreed requirements.
What does “Completed Projects” or “Verified Jobs” mean?
This shows the number of projects or jobs a Professional has completed through ZexusPro, where the relevant milestone or engagement has been completed and confirmed on the platform.
What does “Client Repeat Rate” mean?
Client Repeat Rate shows the percentage of a Professional’s Clients who have engaged them for more than one project or service through ZexusPro, where this information is available.
What does “Starting Rate” mean?
Starting Rate is the lowest published price a Professional has set for a defined service or package.
It is not necessarily the final price for a project. The final price depends on the scope, complexity, timeline, deliverables, and terms agreed between the Client and the Professional.
What are service packages?
Service Packages are predefined offers created by a Professional or Service Provider. A package may describe:
- The service or deliverables included
- Price
- Delivery time
- Number of revisions
- Any exclusions or requirements
For work that does not fit a standard package, a Client can request a custom quotation or contact the Professional directly.
Can a Professional display their portfolio?
Yes. Professionals can add completed projects to their portfolio. A portfolio entry may include the project name, description, location, year, value, images, documents, or other relevant details.
Can a Professional display their work experience?
Yes. Professionals can add relevant work experience, including their role, employer or business, period of employment, location, and a short description of their responsibilities or achievements.
Can a Professional display their education and certifications?
Yes. Professionals can add relevant education, licences, certifications, and professional registrations. Credentials may be marked as verified after review.
Can I see reviews from real Clients?
Yes. Reviews are displayed from Clients who have completed eligible engagements through ZexusPro. Reviews may include a star rating, written feedback, project details, and the date the review was submitted.
Can I request a custom quotation?
Yes. If your project requires a tailored scope, timeline, or deliverables, you can request a custom quotation from the Professional or Service Provider.
Can I message a Professional before hiring?
Yes. You can send a message to discuss your requirements, ask questions, clarify the scope, and agree on terms before starting an engagement.
Booking and Engagements
Instant booking vs custom briefs, project milestones, and scope adjustments.
How do I book a Professional or Service Provider?
You can book in two ways:
- Instant booking: Choose a fixed-price package, review the deliverables, price, delivery time, and revision terms, then confirm the booking.
- Custom request: Post a project brief with your scope, budget, and timeline. Professionals or Service Providers can then submit quotes or proposals.
What is a project brief?
A project brief is a description of the work you need. It may include the type of service, location, scope, deliverables, budget, timeline, and any other requirements.
What is a milestone?
A milestone is a defined stage of work within a larger project. It may include specific deliverables, a deadline, and a payment amount.
Larger projects, especially in Construction and Real Estate, may be divided into milestones.
Each milestone can be funded, completed, reviewed, and released separately.
Is each milestone paid separately?
Yes. For multi-milestone engagements, each milestone is funded and released separately after the Client confirms that the milestone has been completed as agreed.
Can the scope of work change after booking?
Yes, but changes should be agreed and recorded on the platform before work continues.
Scope changes, price adjustments, revised deadlines, and other agreements should be made through ZexusPro’s chat or contract tools.
Keeping agreements on the platform creates a clear record that can be used if a dispute arises.
What happens if an Open Request receives no quotes?
If your Open Request does not receive quotes, review the brief to ensure the scope, budget, location, timeline, and requirements are clear. You can also update the request or contact support for assistance.
Accounts and Verification
Account creation, NIN & liveness checks, regulatory registration, and site visits.
How do I create an account?
Select the account type that applies to you, provide the required details, and complete the onboarding process.
Clients can join through the Client onboarding flow. Professionals and Service Providers can follow the Pro Onboarding Guide.
What verification is required for Professionals?
Professionals may be required to complete NIN verification and credential verification.
Depending on the service offered, ZexusPro may also request supporting documents, business registration details, licences, or evidence of past work.
What verification is required for Service Providers?
Service Providers may be required to complete NIN verification. Additional requirements may apply depending on the services offered and the account type.
What is a liveness check?
A liveness check helps confirm that the person completing verification is present during the process and matches the identity details provided.
Why does ZexusPro verify identities?
Verification helps reduce impersonation, false claims, and misuse of the platform. It also helps Clients make more informed decisions when choosing who to engage.
Nigeria’s National Identity Management Commission provides identity-verification services that enable entities to verify people enrolled in the National Identity Database.
Is professional registration mandatory?
Professional registration may be required for certain regulated services or high-value technical work. Requirements depend on the service category, account type, and applicable regulatory rules.
Which Professionals may require a site visit?
ZexusPro may carry out physical, on-site checks at its discretion where additional assurance is required. This may depend on the service category, value of the engagement, risk level, or verification requirements.
Does verification guarantee quality?
No. Verification helps confirm identity and, where applicable, credentials. It does not guarantee the quality, completion, or outcome of a service engagement.
Payments and Payment Protection
Milestone funding, Paystack processing, release triggers, refunds, fees, and withdrawals.
How does Payment Protection work?
When a Client and a Professional or Service Provider agree on an engagement, the Client funds the agreed milestone through the platform.
The Professional or Service Provider completes the agreed milestone and submits the required evidence. Once the Client confirms that the milestone has been completed, funds are released.
Does ZexusPro hold Client funds?
No. ZexusPro does not hold Client funds.
Payments are processed through an automated, end-to-end transaction flow secured by our CBN-licensed payment service provider, Paystack.
When are funds released?
Funds are released by the Client after the agreed milestone and conditions are completed and verified.
What happens if I do not review a delivered milestone?
If a Client does not respond after a milestone is delivered, the platform may apply its automatic completion and protection process. This process is designed to prevent work from being left indefinitely without a decision.
The exact review period, protection window, and automatic release rules will be shown on the relevant job or milestone page and governed by the Payments, Refunds and Disputes Policy.
Can I get a refund?
A refund may be considered where a Professional or Service Provider does not start the work, abandons the engagement, or fails to deliver as agreed. Refund decisions are assessed case by case based on the evidence and the terms agreed on the platform.
Can I pay a Professional or Service Provider directly?
No. Clients should keep payments on the platform. Off-platform payments may not be covered by ZexusPro’s payment records, dispute process, or platform protections.
Are there fees for using ZexusPro?
Any applicable platform fees will be clearly displayed before a transaction is confirmed.
Clients do not pay a separate membership or platform access fee to join ZexusPro or use services. Pros pay only 10% of each transaction completed on the marketplace.
How are payments secured?
Payments are processed through Paystack, our CBN-licensed payment service provider.
Paystack uses secure payment infrastructure and does not store card details entered during checkout.
When can I withdraw my earnings?
You can add your bank account and withdraw cleared funds after your identity verification is complete.
Can I use my ZexusPro balance to hire another Pro?
Yes. Funds in your ZexusPro account can be used to book another Professional or Service Provider on the marketplace.
Disputes and Resolutions
Raising a dispute, required evidence, mediation stages, and non-release protection.
What should I do if there is a problem with an engagement?
First, communicate with the other party through the platform and try to resolve the issue directly.
If the issue cannot be resolved, raise a dispute through the platform and provide the relevant details and evidence.
How do I raise a dispute?
Raise the dispute through the relevant job or milestone page, ideally before payment is released. Include:
- The transaction, project, or request reference number
- A clear description of the issue
- The agreed scope, milestones, or contract terms
- A timeline of events
- Screenshots, messages, photographs, videos, invoices, or other supporting evidence
How does ZexusPro handle disputes?
ZexusPro reviews the information submitted by both parties, including the agreed scope, milestones, messages, evidence of work, and payment records.
We aim to support a fair outcome based on the facts available and the terms agreed on the platform.
Can a dispute be escalated?
Yes. Depending on the nature and value of the dispute, ZexusPro may use platform mediation, independent inspection, or external arbitration where applicable.
The process and any associated requirements will be set out in the Payments, Refunds and Disputes Policy.
Can ZexusPro force a Professional to complete work?
No. ZexusPro provides tools for clear agreements, milestone tracking, payment records, and dispute support. However, ZexusPro cannot force a Professional or Service Provider to complete work.
What happens if a Client refuses to release payment?
If a Client refuses to release payment after a milestone has been completed as agreed, the Professional or Service Provider can raise a dispute through the platform and submit supporting evidence.
Trust and Safety
Fraud reporting, anti-circumvention rules, on-platform communication, and account security.
What should I do if I see fraud or impersonation?
Report it through the Trust and Safety channel at trust@zexuspro.com or through the reporting option available on the platform.
Include the profile link, transaction or request reference number, screenshots, messages, and a clear description of the issue.
What is circumvention?
Circumvention is when Clients and Professionals or Service Providers move a transaction, communication, or payment outside ZexusPro after connecting through the platform.
This may affect access to payment records, dispute support, and platform protections.
Why should I keep communication on ZexusPro?
Keeping communication on the platform creates a clear record of the agreed scope, changes, deliverables, approvals, and payments. This record can be important if a dispute arises.
Messages, agreements, or payments made outside the platform may not be considered in a dispute review.
What should I do if someone asks me to pay or chat off-platform?
Do not share personal bank details, make off-platform payments, or move the engagement outside ZexusPro. Report the request to Trust and Safety at trust@zexuspro.com.
Will ZexusPro ask for my password, PIN, or OTP?
No. ZexusPro will never ask for your password, PIN, or one-time passcode. Never share these details with anyone claiming to represent ZexusPro.
Can ZexusPro remove an account?
Yes. ZexusPro may restrict, suspend, or remove an account where there is a breach of the platform rules, fraudulent activity, impersonation, repeated disputes, or other conduct that affects the safety and integrity of the marketplace.
Does ZexusPro guarantee every transaction?
No. ZexusPro provides verification, payment protection, records, and dispute-support processes. It does not guarantee the outcome, quality, or completion of every service engagement.
